Melbourne, Australia – Hawthorn Football Club superstar, and reigning AFL Brownlow medalist, Tom Mitchell has joined Nissan Australia as an official ambassador.
One of the Australian Football League’s (AFL) most respected players, Mitchell was Hawthorn’s best and fairest in 2017 and 2018, made the All-Australian team in the same years, and was the AFL players’ associations most valuable player in 2018.
Mitchell is Nissan Australia’s first AFL ambassador player signing since joining Hawthorn as official automotive partner.
“There’s a lot to like about Nissan, the fact that it is a global brand is really appealing, it’s a brand that I am extremely proud to be associated with,” said Tom Mitchell.
“Nissan makes family cars and Hawthorn is the family club, so the values that are shared between Nissan and the Hawthorn Football Club really align.”
Nissan is delighted to partner with Tom Mitchell.
“Tom is one of the nation’s best known and admired sportsmen and Nissan is proud to have him join our team,” said Nissan Australia marketing director Geraldine Davys.
“Tom will play an important role at select Nissan activations at Hawthorn home games, he will help promote Nissan’s involvement with the team in the wider community, as well as engage with the Dealership network and of course the fans.”
Having signed as an ambassador for the duration of Nissan’s current three-year sponsorship with the Hawks, Mitchell likes the look of both the top of the range Navara Dual Cab ST-X and the Nissan Pathfinder Ti.
“I love the look of the Pathfinder and the Navara because they offer plenty of space, which is good for me as I can put the dogs in the back,” said Mitchell.
“They are modern, appealing cars, they have Bluetooth, push button start, a reverse camera and the 360 degree camera – which is a great technology for parking.”
The Nissan Navara ST-X Dual Cab 4X4 has a 2.3 litre intercooled twin-turbo diesel engine that outputs 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque.
It includes satellite navigation with 3D mapping, a 360 degree Around View Monitor, reverse camera and rear parking sensors, a 7-inch integrated colour display with touch screen, dual zone automatic climate control, and a leather accented steering wheel as standard equipment.
