New Vehicle Warranty Period
The standard period for the New Vehicle Warranty for vehicles sold from the 1st of April 2019 is 5 years and Unlimited kilometres unless the vehicle is used as a commercial vehicle for purposes which include rental cars, hire and taxi, rideshare, delivery or courier vehicle, in which case the warranty period is 5 years or 200,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.
EV vehicles with a Lithium-Ion Battery Pack sold from the 1st of April 2019 come with a Nissan LEAF Lithium-Ion battery State of Health guarantee. The Nissan LEAF Lithium-Ion battery State of Health guarantee protects against battery capacity loss (less than 9 bars out of 12) as shown on the in vehicle capacity gauge for a period of 8 years or 160,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.
Except in Western Australia, the Warranty commences from the time the vehicle is first registered or put into service (whichever occurs first). In Western Australia, the Warranty period begins from the purchase date of the vehicle, but (for a commercial vehicle Warranty) kilometres are counted from when the vehicle is put into service as a demonstrator vehicle.
The New Vehicle Warranty covers all parts and components of each new Nissan vehicle except for:
- Those items listed under the section entitled 'WHAT IS NOT COVERED' (below); and
- The tyres and battery which are the subject of separate warranties
In addition to your rights under Nissan’s New Vehicle Warranty, your vehicle also comes with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. See the section ‘CONSUMER GUARANTEES’ below for more information.
